I once read Elon musk’s 100 hour work schedule per week and in fact thunder struck by his routine. Every week out of 168 hours everyone of us have, Friday night is the time every person will be awaiting for a weekend getaway. What is it actually that’s driving a person to lose himself into entertainment? is it their age, or is it the lack of interest. I would definitely mention it as a lack of interest, because the person with all the dreams to achieve something in his 20’s will run short on the same interest in their 40’s or 30’s by selling themselves short. coming to the topic I was a grouchy kid always and still I am sometimes, but when it comes to accomplish some work I never hesitate and make sure that no stone is unturned.

The story behind why I always plan has two reasons.

  1. I’ve learnt it out of my grand father.
  2. I would be ahead even if I fail to accomplish the goal.

I was never a self disciplined person, but one instance always stuck in my head, that was as a kid I always was weak at math, looking at my class mates I always felt am I incapable of scoring in math or is it lack of planning and interest in it? that’s when I started to plan things and started to finish every work as planned without intricating it. The next test I scored better than I had expected(not a topper of the class though.).

“How has planning changed me as a individual?”

As A individual everyone’s got their own capabilities and interests, I would say that without denying because one individual good at something isn’t good at another. But even having the talent or a skill and not able to utilize is the saying I’ve come across with my friends and I too was one among them before.

But when I came across Elon Musk’s insane work ethic and work schedule I totally switched my thinking. One instance I would like to tell how has planning changed me is, if at all a friend calls me and asks out, the first thing I do is look at phone reminder and then decide, because if at all I sacrifice something for a sheer entertainment sake, I’ll never sleep peacefully that day in fact. As Warren buffet say’s

“A idiot with a plan can easily beat a genius without a plan.”

And this saying definitely comes handy and I myself have experienced it in many ways possible. With all these I’ve stopped overthinking, because once a person sticks to a plan and starts acting accordingly, there’s no one who can stop that person from gaining and achieving something.

“what are the benefits of planning?”

the change I’ve seen in myself over years of planning and doing it is immense.

  1. Change in coherent thinking
  2. strong mindset
  3. reduced over thinking (in my case yes, this point is valid)
  4. active through out the day
  5. self discipline
  6. over all the satisfaction of doing something.

out of 168 hours, 56 hours of good nights sleep, 50 hours work, considering 10 hours of entertainment totaling to 116 hours, and the left over 50 hours can be feasibly used if a person plans out and starts sticking to it. No one here is actually busy, we’ve been a lazy sloth and prioritize sleep over our passion.

“If at all we start planning and start working, even though we fail we’ll be far ahead in life what was needed to be accomplished.”
